Laskey Costello, LLC Certified Public Accountants in Lakewood, Ohio seeks an Accounting Specialist to join our public accounting team. You will work with a partner or senior staff on financial statement prep, monthly bookkeeping, and tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage clients' accounting needs (bookkeeping, tax compliance, financial statement prep) and meet deadlines.
• Record transactions in ledgers using spreadsheets or accounting software.
• Review ledgers for accuracy and correct errors.
• Prepare and file basic financial statements including income statements and P&L by account.
• Address client concerns and identify performance improvement opportunities.

Laskey Costello is seeking a skilled and motivated Accounting Specialist to join our public accounting team in Lakewood, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys delivering high-quality client service, supporting a broad range of accounting engagements, and contributing to a collaborative, family-oriented firm. Working closely with a partner or senior staff, the Accounting Specialist will play an integral role in financial statement preparation, monthly bookkeeping, and the preparation of individual, partnership, and corporate income tax returns, along with other client service responsibilities as needed.

** Responsibilities & Duties**

• Manage clients' accounting needs (bookkeeping, tax compliance, financial statement preparation) ensuring all deadlines are met
• Recording transactions in the appropriate company account ledgers using spreadsheets or accounting software
• Reviewing account ledgers for accuracy and correcting errors, such as duplications or typos
• Preparing and filing basic financial documents, such as income statements, profit and loss (P&L) statements and totals by account
• Anticipate and address client concerns and elevate issues as they arise; identify performance improvement opportunities

** Qualifications**

• Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
• 2-3 years' experience in accounting or related field
