Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2-3 years' experience in tax preparation or related field.
• CPA/EA preferred.
• Experience with UltraTax/Accountants World/QuickBooks/TaxDome a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and corporations.
• Conduct research and document findings to support client's position.
• Provide timely, high-quality client service that exceeds client expectations.
• Anticipate and address client concerns and elevate issues as they arise; identify performance improvement opportunities.
• Manage clients' accounting needs (bookkeeping, tax compliance, financial statement preparation) ensuring all deadlines are met.

Laskey Costello is seeking a skilled and motivated Staff Accountant to join our public accounting team in Lakewood, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys delivering high-quality client service, supporting a broad range of tax and accounting engagements, and contributing to a collaborative, family-oriented firm. Working closely with a partner or senior staff, the Staff Accountant will play an integral role in financial statement preparation, monthly bookkeeping, and the preparation of individual, partnership, and corporate income tax returns, along with other client service responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Federal, state, and local tax return preparation for individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and corporations
• Conduct research and document findings to support client's position
• Provide timely, high-quality client service that exceeds client expectations
• Anticipate and address client concerns and elevate issues as they arise; identify performance improvement opportunities
• Manage clients accounting needs (bookkeeping, tax compliance, financial statement preparation) ensuring all deadlines are met
