Job summary

AlphaGraphics Stamford, CT is seeking an Accounting Specialist for a full-time, in-office role. The ideal candidate has strong accounts payable/receivable, billing and collections experience and is highly detail-oriented.

Proficiency in Excel and accounting software, plus excellent English communication, are required. Responsibilities include data entry in QuickBooks, managing invoices, receivables, payables, tax filings and payroll coordination with an outside provider.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience in billing, collections, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations.
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting records and financial records.
• Proficiency data entry skills.
• Hands-on experience in operating Excel spreadsheets and accounting software.
• Proficiency in English and in MS Office Suite.
• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Input bills into QuickBooks.
• Facilitate payment of invoices by sending reminders and contacting clients.
• Maintain records of receivables via PrintSmith, apply payments and pursue collections.
• Process accounts payable via QuickBooks and manage annual 1099s.
• Process various AP transactions and reconcile statements.
• Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns.
• Coordinate payroll processing with an external provider.
• Respond to vendor inquiries via phone or email.
