Job summary

Hornbeck Offshore in Covington, LA, is seeking an Accounting Analyst to support the accounting and financial reporting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and data gathering for disclosures.

You will also handle invoicing, billing guidelines, and provide administrative support, working closely with management to ensure accurate financial statements and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
• Previous accounting or billing experience preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
• Proficiency with 10-key and computer data entry required.
• Fluency in written and spoken English required.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, ensure confidentiality.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret general business materials.
• Adherence to company ethics and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and/or reviews invoices and credit memos based on terms and conditions
• Maintains customer billing guidelines and procedures
• Assists in collections of outstanding receivables
• Prepares general ledger journal entries and reconciliations for certain moderately complex accounts monthly, quarterly, and annually
• Assists with tracking of project costs, customer billing, fixed asset accounting and statutory filings
• Assists management in the preparation, analysis, and distribution of financial statements and supporting data
• Prepares and maintains written memorandum and adequate accounting records for all accounting tasks/processes performed
• Assists management with accounting for moderately complex transactions, and reports and recommends to financial management any opportunities for improvement in accounting policies and procedures
• Monitors outstanding rebill items to assure clients are invoiced timely and in accordance with contract provisions
• Prepares reports for Accounting Department as required
• Assists in preparation of monthly accruals and support
• Assists in preparation for audits as necessary.
• All other duties as assigned by management
