Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking an Accounting Associate to maintain all accounting records and generate timely reports in line with GAAP and company policy. This role supports weekly payroll, GL postings, AP/AR processing, and month-end closes at the Richland plant.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 1+ year in accounting/office roles, strong Excel skills, and a detail-oriented, confidential approach to financial data.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to high school diploma required.
• 1+ year experience in business office / accounting function with exposure to general ledger, payroll, and/or accounts payable.
• Solid working knowledge of accounting procedures.
• Strong working knowledge of computer systems such as Microsoft Office and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Post entries to the general ledger and balance accounts.
• Process accounts payable transactions and batch payments.
• Handle accounts receivable adjustments and collections as needed.
• Assist in month-end closings for the plant.
• Maintain payroll and accounting files per record keeping policies.
• Provide general admin support and respond to corporate requests.
