The Accounting Associate II is primarily responsible for timely and accurate posting of cash receipts to customer accounts, balance the cash applied daily and research and assist in resolving payment discrepancies. This position is expected to standardize processes, where possible, and to make recommendations for ways to improve processes and procedures as well as implement automation opportunities.

Essential Functions

• Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”
• Actively support the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”
• Process cash receipts for all divisions and business units, consisting of wire transfers, ACH deposit, lock box deposits and electronic checks.
• Perform research and initiate resolution of unapplied cash items by signing into customer portals and/or consulting AR Associates and Field Office Managers.
• Perform daily balancing of the general ledger.
• Adhere to month end closing and weekly reporting processes.
• Provide weekly reports to the Director of Accounting Shared Services.
• Process inter-company billings and clearing invoices from accounts receivable.
• Participate in archiving, records retention, and audit support.
• Provide backup support for other areas of Accounting Shared Services such as journal entry input/creation, project setup, and vendor setup.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of positions including internal and external customers while also providing requested documentation and reports.
• Perform additional responsibilities, as directed, which would include supporting or serving as the lead on identified special accounting projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in general accounting or accounts receivable required.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting procedures.
• Computer proficiency, including Excel, Outlook; experience with PENTA a plus.
• Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills required; must be a self-motivated individual.
• Detail oriented; must have the ability to prioritize work, analyze information, identify discrepancies, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong customer service mindset and approach to business.
