Description
The Accounting Associate II is primarily responsible for processing journal entries, providing backup support to cash applications, project setup, and project change orders.
Essential Functions
- Actively support the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."
- Represent the Company with high moral standards, adhering to the "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."
- Enter, process, file, index, and maintain journal entries in Penta.
- Provide backup support to:
- Cash Applications, including processing cash receipts for all divisions and operating units, such as wire transfers, ACH deposits, lockbox deposits, and electronic checks.
- Understanding and setting up new projects based on OU (LS, T&M, AIA & Parent/Child) and cost code structures for project tracking and invoicing.
- Entering project Change Orders in Penta, ensuring estimates are uploaded accurately for approved Change Orders following Delegation of Authority (DOA).
- Closing and re-opening jobs in Penta upon request.
- Setting up customers and vendors accurately into the system.
- Setting up new vendors, ensuring proper documentation such as W-9 and Related Party Disclosure, and verifying banking information.
- Communicating effectively with all levels of internal and external customers, providing documentation and reports as needed.
- Participating in archiving, records retention, and audit support.
- Supporting or leading special accounting projects as directed.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in general accounting, accounts receivable, or accounts payable.
- Strong ten-key by touch skills.
- Construction industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in Excel and Outlook; experience with PENTA is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and self-motivation skills.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize, analyze, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong customer service approach.
