Job summary

Arkansas Talent Group is seeking an Accounting Assistant for our client, a growing manufacturing company, to support AP, AR, and payroll. The role reports to the Controller and works with a small, collaborative team onsite in Little Rock.

Responsibilities include processing vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, payroll for about 100 employees, bank reconciliations, and month-end close tasks. Strong detail, Excel proficiency, and ability to prioritize will help you thrive in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
• Experience processing high-volume accounts payable.
• Experience processing payroll for 50–100+ employees.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
• Proficiency in Excel and comfort with accounting/payroll systems.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines, work independently, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Clear, professional communication with coworkers, vendors, and customers.
• Collaborative, solution-focused approach and willingness to help beyond responsibilities.
• Ability to work onsite, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and on time.
• Review invoices and discrepancies; coordinate resolutions.
• Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries.
• Record automatic payments and maintain AP documentation.
• Prepare and support customer invoicing.
• Research customer account questions and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Maintain AR records and communicate with customers and internal team.
• Process payroll for up to approximately 100 employees; review timekeeping and PTO.
• Assist with new-hire paperwork, benefits enrollment and payroll reporting.
• Support retirement plan submissions and workers' compensation audit reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll, employee, and financial information.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations; reconcile account balances and research variances.
• Support month-end close and routine accounting reports.
• Assist with purchase orders, receiving documentation, and related recordkeeping.
• Provide backup support and assist with other accounting and administrative projects.
