Job summary

Kocourek Automotive is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our Accounting Department. This role supports the Director of Accounting and Accounting Manager in maintaining accurate financial records and daily operations in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is dependable, analytical, and capable of handling multiple priorities with deadlines. Office hours are typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, in a professional office setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accounting records related to the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash reimbursements, and other accounting functions.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, ensuring all transactions are accurately posted and supporting schedules and account reconciliations are completed and submitted for review.
• Support the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow monitoring.
• Review contracts in transit and other receivable schedules to ensure accuracy and timely collection.
• Compile and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management and dealership leadership.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
• Provide additional administrative and accounting support as assigned.
