Job summary

Kocourek Automotive is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support the Director of Accounting and Accounting Manager in maintaining accurate financial records and daily operations. The role requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will help with general ledger activities, month-end close, cash flow monitoring, and the preparation of monthly statements and reports.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with employees and management at all levels.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Automotive dealership accounting experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accounting records for the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash reimbursements, and related functions.
• Assist with month-end closing, post transactions, and support schedules and reconciliations.
• Help prepare timely financial statements and management reports.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow monitoring.
• Review contracts in transit and other receivable schedules for accuracy and timely collection.
• Compile daily, weekly, and monthly management reports.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
• Provide additional administrative and accounting support as assigned.
