Job summary

Kocourek Automotive is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our Accounting Department. This role provides direct support to the Director of Accounting and Accounting Manager, maintaining accurate financial records and supporting daily operations.

The ideal candidate is dependable, analytical, and organized, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and proficient in Excel and MS Office. Automotive dealership experience is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with employees and management at all levels.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash reimbursements, and related accounting functions.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, ensuring transactions are posted and reconciliations are completed.
• Support timely monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow monitoring.
• Review contracts in transit and receivable schedules for accuracy and collection.
• Compile and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly management reports.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
• Provide additional administrative and accounting support as assigned.
