This Accounting Assistant role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of the company’s financial operations, directly supporting the Accounting Manager by handling essential accounts payable and receivable duties and contributing to month-end close processes.

What You’ll Actually Do

• Process: Support the Accounts Payable function, including check runs and the review of entries.
• Verify: Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment processing.
• Resolve: Respond to vendor inquiries and research payment discrepancies to facilitate resolution.
• Reconcile: Prepare bank deposits and complete bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Report: Assist with reporting to support month-end accounting close entries and prepare various account reconciliations.

The Must-Haves

• Background: Entry-Level position focusing on core domain knowledge in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Experience: Previous accounts receivable and accounts payable experience is preferred for this role.
• Skills: Ability to maintain reports, spreadsheets, and accounting files, prepare financial and business transactions, follow up on aging accounts, and develop/run queries using Access and Excel.
• Bonus: Willingness to train, as well as an aptitude for maintaining organized financial records.
