Working Alternatives, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Assistant to coordinate the accounting department’s activities. Responsibilities include AR/AP, billing, payroll, and supporting the Controller to improve financial operations.
Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and have several years in accounting management or supervisory roles. The position is full-time, nonexempt, in San Diego, with standard 40-hour weeks.

Hours per week: 40/Full
Reports directly to: The Controller and indirectly to other Corporate Officers/Managers.
The Accounting Assistant coordinates activities and operations of accounting department and staff. They’re responsible for AR/AP, billing, payroll and for anticipating operational expenses. Provides support and recommendations to Controller to improve financial operations.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field from an accredited college or university and four years of work experience in a management level position in an accounting department with 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position. Work experience may be substituted for academic studies exchanging one year of work experience in a related field for one year of academic education. Total work experience needed in lieu of the combination of education and work experience is eight years, with two of the years in a supervisory position. Must have a valid driver’s license and social security card issued by the U.S. Social Security Administration, and be a United States citizen, permanent resident, or other person lawfully admitted into the United States. Must pass federal background check.
