Job summary

The County of Riverside's Auditor Controller's Office is offering a paid student internship, based in Riverside County. The selected candidate will report to the Principal Accountant in the Accounts Payable Unit and work up to 40 hours per week for up to one year, with flexibility around academic obligations.

Under supervision, you will gain supervised experience in accounting and finance, performing duties such as reviewing vouchers, assisting with warrants and pay cycles, month-end close,

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting/Finance.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• Recent graduates within 1 year of graduation are eligible.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve vouchers (regular vouchers, reimbursements, procurement card, outstanding, revolving fund).
• Assist Accounts Payable with warrants, wire transfers, pay cycles, and stops/cancels of warrants.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close tasks.
• Process journal entries and reconciliations; handle credit card payments and E-Payables logs.
