Job summary

The County of Riverside's Auditor Controller's Office offers a paid student internship based in Riverside County. The intern will report to the Principal Accountant in the Accounts Payable Unit and gain supervised, hands-on experience in voucher processing, month-end close, and general accounting duties.

The internship is up to 40 hours per week for about a year, with flexibility for academic obligations and a focus on practical finance skills.

Qualifications

• Student or recent graduate in Accounting & Finance with a concentration in Accounting.
• 2.5 GPA or greater; include resume and transcript with application.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve vouchers (regular, reimbursements, procurement card).
• Assist AP team with warrants, wire transfers, pay cycles, disclosures.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close tasks.
• Process journal entries and reconciliations; handle E-Payables logs.
• Identify voucher issues and provide guidance on county policies.
