Job summary

GRDA in Oklahoma seeks an Accounting Analyst III to oversee general accounting, financial reporting, and ERP functions to provide accurate, timely financial information.

You will manage the monthly close, reconciliations, and continuing disclosure duties, using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Maximo. A Bachelor's degree and five years of experience are required, with strong Excel proficiency.

The Accounting Analyst III oversees key general accounting, financial reporting, and enterprise resource planning functions to support accurate and timely financial information. The position manages the monthly close process, account reconciliations, regulatory accounting requirements, continuing disclosure reporting, and financial system configuration.

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

• Direct monthly and annual general accounting activities, including clearing allocations, suspense accounts, journal entries, account reconciliations, and accounting requirements associated with GASB 68 pension and GASB 75 other post-employment benefits.
• Oversee the monthly financial close process in Microsoft Dynamics 365 to ensure transactions, automated postings, manual journal entries, and accounting periods are complete, accurate, and recorded within the appropriate reporting period.
• Manage the monthly reconciliation and substantiation of approximately $1.8 billion in balance sheet accounts, ensuring balances reconcile to the general ledger and comply with generally accepted accounting principles and established internal controls.
• Coordinate the Authority's continuing disclosure obligations in accordance with applicable bond resolutions, including quarterly and annual financial reporting, required submissions to the Electronic Municipal Market Access system, and disclosure of reportable events such as credit rating changes.
• Administer the financial structure and integrity of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and related enterprise systems, including main accounts, financial dimensions, projects, resources, and other financial system components.
• Provide organization-wide guidance regarding account coding, financial system requirements, and the consistent application of accounting policies and procedures.
• Research, interpret, and implement applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements to ensure continued compliance with GAAP, GASB, FERC, and other financial reporting requirements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualities:

• Ability to foster transparent communication, accountability, collaboration, and a service-oriented culture.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and monthly close processes.
• Ability to research and interpret accounting pronouncements and implement changes necessary to maintain compliance.
• Knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and FERC accounting and reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skill in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Maximo.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with consistent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and public speaking skills.

Education, Training, Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and financial reporting, Public power or electric utility experience is preferred.
• Experience preparing and reviewing internal financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and debt service schedules, and ensuring compliance with GAAP, GASB, and FERC requirements.

Certificates, Registrations, Licenses:

• Valid Oklahoma driver's license, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of establishing Oklahoma residency.

Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment.

Position is located at the Administrative Center in Chouteau, Oklahoma.
