Job summary

CTG is seeking an Accounting Analyst I for a 3-month engagement in Buffalo, NY. The role supports GAAP-compliant close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting with 50% onsite work in Buffalo.

You will review transactions, research variances, prepare reports, and assist with system changes, testing, and process improvements while coordinating with business partners and auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or 4 years of combined education/work experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Excel proficiency.

CTG is seeking to fill an Accounting Analyst I opening for our client.

Location:

Buffalo, NY (Must spend approximately 50% of the time onsite in Buffalo, NY)

Duration:

3 month

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support general ledger close, reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Review accounting transactions and research account variances.
• Prepare accounting reports and work papers.
• Assist with process improvements, system changes, testing, and portfolio integrations.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulations, and internal controls.
• Support accounting projects and collaborate with business partners and auditors.

Scope of Responsibilities:

• Works independently under general supervision and interacts with internal business partners and auditors.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

• None.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or 4 years of combined education/work experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Excel/spreadsheet proficiency.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Accounting experience.
• MBA or CPA.
