Job summary

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for an Accounting Analyst at Columbus General Office in Columbus, Nebraska. You will perform accounting analyses, reconcile ledgers, and support accurate financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance (or equivalent), SAP experience, and strong analytical and communication skills. Salary range includes competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related business degree; accounting degree highly preferred.
• Associate degree in accounting or business administration + 4 years accounting experience.
• High school/GED plus 10 years accounting experience.
• Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of accounting policies, internal controls, and GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and review related information for financial statements, schedules and disclosures.
• Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary ledgers to supporting documentation.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close cycles and audits.
