Job summary

LHH is partnering with a downtown Indy manufacturing client to recruit an Accounting Analyst. This role provides professional accounting analysis and financial reporting support, exercising independent judgment in evaluating financial data and maintaining records. It plays a key role in month-end close and process improvements to enhance accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance preferred.
• Minimum 2 years accounting experience preferred.
• Detail-oriented and able to work with multiple departments.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Match PO, SO, shipping docs, invoices; verify terms, pricing, quantities; issue billing invoices.
• Enter billing invoices for materials and freight into the ERP system.
• Enter debit/credit memos to customer accounts per policy.
• Record and apply customer payments upon receipt.
• Prepare AR statements and follow up on past-due accounts.
• Prepare AR aging reports and reconcile ledgers to the GL.
• Match POs to receiving documents and verify terms/prices/quantities.
• Enter AP invoices for expenses, raw materials, and freight into ERP.
• Enter debit/credit memos to vendor accounts.
• Authorize payments according to terms.
• Prepare ACH, wire, and check payment plans and maintain docs.
• Prepare AP aging reports and reconcile ledgers to the GL.
• Send credit references, sales tax exemption certificates, and W-9 forms.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses for month-end close.
• Maintain accounting records and documentation per company requirements.

Job Description

• Match customer purchase orders to sales orders, shipping documents (delivery notes or shippers and bills of lading), invoices; verify payment terms, pricing, and quantities; and issue billing invoices.
• Enter billing invoices for materials and freight into the ERP system.
• Enter debit and credit memos to customer accounts according to company policy.
• Record and apply customer payments upon receipt.
• Prepare accounts receivable statements and follow up on past-due accounts.
• Prepare accounts receivable aging reports and reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses to support month-end close.
• Maintain accounting records and documentation in accordance with company requirements.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Detail-oriented, self-starter, efficient, reliable, and able to work effectively with multiple departments.
