Job summary

A leading staffing solutions firm is seeking an experienced Accounting Analyst in Houston, Texas. In this mid-senior level role, you'll support monthly accounting activities, work with SAP, and help resolve inventory discrepancies. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and analytical skills are required. This is a contract position with a pay range of $40 to $42 per hour.

The Accounting Analyst supports our business units with monthly closing activities which include recording actual result and accruals, as well as ensuring the accuracy of accounting transactions. The candidate must be results oriented, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

• This position serves as a key function to the process of recording and initiating product purchases and sales to third parties as well as intercompany transactions.
• Completing monthly closing activities, including booking of accruals and actuals and ensuring accuracy of entries.
• Assist in resolving issues primarily related to volume differences in inventory reconciliation and invoice processing
• Responsible for locating pipeline tickets or other custody transfer documentation and recording bulk purchases, bulk sales, exchanges, and inventory movements in SAP
• Supporting projects or initiatives of the team.

Position Requirements

Basic/Required

• Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Right Angle or SAP experience

Preferred

• CPA, Masters in Accountancy, MBA or MIS minor
• 1 or more years of direct experience in an accounting/finance function
