Accounting Analyst

Location: Birmingham, AL (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

• Support monthly close process by preparing journal entries, maintaining supporting schedules, and ensuring assigned accounting activities are completed accurately and on time.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances or reconciling items, partnering with internal teams to resolve any issues.
• Asst with accounts payable activities, invoice review, vendor maintenance, payment processing, and employee expense reimbursements.
• Prepare internal financial reports and management schedules used to support business decision making and operational oversight
• Assist with regulatory, audit, and compliance-related requests by gathering supporting documentation and preparing account analyses.
• Help identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automate manual tasks, and enhance the overall efficiency of the accounting function.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Accounting
• 2-3+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience with month end close, reconciliations, financial reporting.
• Strong excel skills and comfort learning new systems.
