Job summary

NAVAIR in Virginia (Cherry Point area) seeks an accounting professional to apply theories of accounting policies and practices to solve problems, formulate financial reports, and advise program officials.

You will reconcile cash and general ledger accounts, correct subsidiary vs control balances, provide guidance, use costing methodologies, and support audits. Benefits included.

• Experience reconciling cash, AR, AP, and general ledger accounts.

• You will formulate financial reports and recommend established policies and procedures affecting accounting systems.
• You will reconcile cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other general ledger accounts.
• You will correct differences between subsidiary ledger balances and general ledger control accounts.
• You will provide accounting information and guidance to program officials and assist management.
• You will use costing methodologies to recognize, accumulate, and report costs for management information.
• You will assist in performing financial audits, analysis, evaluations and submissions of reports.
• You will perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will demonstrate knowledge of theories, practices, methods, and techniques of accounting policies, practices and functions to solve a variety of accounting problems.
• You will formulate a variety of financial reports and recommend established policies and procedures affecting accounting systems.
• You will reconcile cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other general ledger accounts.
• You will correct differences between the subsidiary ledger balances, and the control account balances in the general ledger.
• You will provide accounting information and guidance to program officials and assist management in applying financial data and recommending solutions to difficult problems.
• You will use appropriate costing methodologies to recognize, determine, accumulate, and report costs of activities on a regular basis for management information purposes.
• You will assist in performing financial audits, analysis, evaluations, submissions of a variety of financial reports.
• You will perform other related duties as assigned.
