Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage general ledger accounting and reporting for Renewables or Flexible generation entities. You will close monthly and yearly books, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, and support project funding and cash management.

You will collaborate with project stakeholders, interface with external auditors, assist budget processes, and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience with IFRS and SAP.
  • Hybrid work policy eligibility.
  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment and outside normal US business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly and annual closing processes for assigned entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reporting.
  • Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on balances as required.
  • Confirm project funding for weekly payments.
  • Liaise with key project stakeholders.
  • Perform accounting and reporting tasks for Renewables group, including monthly operating reports and cash management.
  • Develop processes, drive continuous improvement, and coordinate requirements upstream and downstream in the organization.
  • Interface with external auditors and prepare financial schedules and requests.
  • Assist in annual budget and long-term forecast preparation.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects as needed.

Job description

As our Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for general ledger accounting and reporting activities for Renewables or Flexible generation entities.

You will:

  • Perform monthly and annual closing processes for assigned entities, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reporting
  • Perform thorough balance sheet account reconciliations and following up on balances as required
  • Confirm project funding for weekly payments
  • Liaise with key project stakeholders
  • Perform accounting and reporting tasks, and meet reporting requirements for Renewables group. Renewables activities include preparing monthly operating reports and cash management
  • Develop processes, drive continuous improvement, coordinate requirements upstream and downstream in the organization
  • Interface with external auditors and preparation of financial schedules and required requests
  • Assist Performance Control Analyst in the preparation of annual budget and annual long-term forecast
  • Perform ad-hoc projects as needed, including those which may involve complex or advanced accounting concepts
  • Carries out other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in industry or public accounting
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Work in time sensitive environment; maybe outside of usual US business hours
  • International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) knowledge
  • Knowledge of tax equity structures
  • Experience in SAP
  • Strong Microsoft office suite skills Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
Compensation

Salary Range: $90,405 – $120, 540 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
