Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Senior Accountant to handle accounting and reporting for distributed solar and storage entities, focusing on partnership structures and project-level accounting. The role operates in a multi-entity, project-finance environment and supports financial reporting, audits and partner deliverables.

The ideal candidate will be pursuing a CPA or ACCA/CA and deepen technical accounting expertise in renewable energy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Active pursuit of CPA or ACCA/CA.
  • 3–6 years progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong in general ledger and financial reporting.
  • Experience supporting external audits.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP or similar).
  • Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or project-based industries.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for partnership entities.
  • Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, prepaids, intercompany transactions, and eliminations.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Support GAAP/IFRS financial statements and reporting packages.

Job description

What You Can Expect

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accounting and reporting of distributed solar and storage entities, with a focus on partnership structures and project-level accounting.

This role operates in a multi-entity, project-finance environment and supports financial reporting, audits, and partner deliverables. The position is ideal for an individual pursuing a CPA or Chartered Accountant qualification who is looking to deepen their technical accounting expertise in the renewable energy sector.

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for assigned partnership entities
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, intercompany transactions, and eliminations
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate/resolve variances
  • Support preparation of GAAP/IFRS financial statements and reporting packages

Partnership & Project Accounting

  • Support accounting for partnership structures, including allocations, distributions, and capital activity
  • Track project-level costs, capitalization, and operating results
  • Work closely with Asset Management to ensureaccuratereflection of project economics
  • Assistin preparation of partner reporting and investor deliverables

Audit & Compliance

  • Prepare audit schedules and serve as a key contact for external auditors
  • Support year-end audits and respond to audit inquiries on assigned entities
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies

Intercompany & Consolidation

  • Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances
  • Support consolidation processes and elimination entries
  • Ensure consistency across entities and reporting structures

Process Improvement

  • Identifyopportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
  • Support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and data validation efforts
  • Contribute to ongoing transformation initiatives

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and Asset Management teams
  • Support cash forecasting and project-level analysis
  • Participate in recurring project review and close meetings

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Actively pursuing CPA or Chartered Accountant (ACCA/CA) qualification
  • 3-6 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong foundationingeneral ledger and financial reporting
  • Experience supportingexternal audits
  • Proficiencyin Excel and accounting systems (SAP or similar ERP)
  • Experience inrenewable energy, infrastructure, or project-based industries
  • Exposure topartnership accounting or complex entity structures
  • Experience withmulti-entity environments and consolidations
  • Knowledge ofIFRS and/or US GAAP
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
