Job summary

Techead is seeking an Accountant Lead for a remote 10-month contract based in Richmond, VA. This role will ensure accurate US GAAP and statutory reporting for our alternative assets portfolio and support large-scale projects.

You will collaborate with cross-functional finance teams, maintain internal controls, and contribute to policy implementation while balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
• CPA preferred.
• 2–5 years of U.S. GAAP and/or U.S. Statutory accounting experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build cross-functional relationships and communicate complex information clearly.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support U.S. GAAP and U.S. Statutory accounting and reporting for the Alternative Assets portfolio.
• Evaluate system outputs to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for the portfolio.
• Research accounting guidance to identify efficiencies or gaps in processes.
• Perform reconciliations, transaction reviews, loan pricing analysis, real estate owned accounting, and journal entries.
• Partner with Finance teams across product lines on investment strategies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to create efficiencies and deliver results.
• Support accounting policy implementation and process redesign efforts.
• Maintain SOX controls documentation and evaluate deficiency risks.

Job Description:

• Support accurate U.S. GAAP and U.S. Statutory accounting and reporting for the organizations Alternative Assets investment portfolio, supporting large scale projects, developing and maintaining robust internal controls framework
• Evaluate system outputs to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for our alternative assets portfolio
• Research and review of accounting guidance to assess existing processes identifying potential efficiencies and/or gaps in current business processes
• Perform assigned accounting responsibilities, including account reconciliations, transaction reviews, loan pricing analysis, real estate owned accounting, and journal entry and financial reporting preparation.
• Partner with the Finance Teams across all product lines and assist in the development and execution of Investment strategies
• Collaborate cross-functionally to create efficiencies and deliver superior business results
• Support accounting policy implementation and strategic business process redesign efforts
• Help maintain SOX controls documentation and evaluate deficiency risks through on-going review and validation of key operational processes
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related discipline
• CPA is preferred
• 2-5 years of U.S. GAAP and/or U.S. Statutory accounting and reporting experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills
