Job summary

TECHEAD is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst 3 to join our team in a 1-year contract with hybrid work (2-3 days remote). The role focuses on IT financial data analysis across Azure and on‑prem workloads, building Power BI dashboards, and supporting FinOps initiatives.

The ideal candidate has strong Power BI, Excel, and data visualization skills, plus experience with Apptio, Azure, and cost management. This contract position offers remote flexibility and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
• Advanced Power BI, including Power Query and DAX; advanced Excel; data visualization best practices.
• Experience with data modeling and data manipulation across heterogeneous sources; Azure cost management familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret IT financial data across Azure and other environments, including consumption, billing, and chargeback models.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize cost trends and workload impacts.
• Perform variance analysis on monthly/annual IT spend; identify anomalies and savings opportunities.
• Maintain datasets from Apptio, Azure Portal, and SharePoint; document reporting processes.
• Collaborate with cloud, I&O, and finance stakeholders to align cost models with operations.
• Model server cost scenarios to aid Azure migration planning; forecast reserve capacity needs.
• Contribute to FinOps strategy with cost driver insights and utilization patterns.

Compensation: $40-45/hr Senior Data Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Data Analyst to join our team. This role is pivotal in analyzing, modeling, and forecasting financial data related to Azure cloud services and on-premises data center workloads. The ideal candidate combines financial acumen with strong data analytics skills to support strategic decision-making and cost optimization initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret IT financial data across Azure and other environments, including consumption, billing, and chargeback models.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize cost trends, server migration impacts, and workload optimization opportunities.
• Perform variance analysis on monthly and annual IT spend, identifying anomalies and opportunities for savings.
• Manually maintain and enhance datasets from Apptio, Azure Portal, and SharePoint sources to ensure accuracy and completeness. Document processes and procedures for financial reporting and analysis
• Collaborate with the technical cloud team, I&O team and finance stakeholders to align cost models with operational realities.
• Support Azure migration planning by modeling server cost scenarios and forecasting reserve capacity needs.
• Contribute to FinOps strategy development by providing insights on cost drivers and utilization patterns.

Must-Have Requirements:

• Bachelor s degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field. | Required | 4 Years
• Advanced level of proficiency in Power BI, including Power Query and DAX, Excel (advanced), and data visualization best practices. | Required | 6 Years
• Some data modeling and data manipulation skills to maintain data sets from multiple, heterogenous sources | Required | 5 Years High familiarity with Azure cost management, Apptio, and cloud billing structures. | Required | 5 Years
• Understanding of server migration strategies and workload cost modeling. | Required | 5 Years
• Ability to translate technical data into insights for technical teams and managers | Required | 5 Years
• Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking to analyze complex financial data and develop actionable recommendations. | Required | 4 Years |
• Proficiency in Power BI, including independently updating data, performing queries, and managing and analyzing datasets with little to no assistance. | Required | 6 Years
