Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking an Accountant III to support monthly financial close, reporting, and analysis. You will prepare journal entries, reconciliation work, and variance analyses while coordinating with operations and other finance teams.

The role requires GAAP knowledge, a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, and five years of accounting experience. Hybrid onsite work is available in multiple Florida locations and Newark, DE, with growth opportunities and a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Five years of accounting experience required.
• GAAP knowledge preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares monthly financial statements, including journal entries and reviewing results with internal customers.
• Communicates with key stakeholders to collect input for monthly close and forecasts.
• Creates and documents monthly reconciliations, variance and flux analyses.
• Leads internal and external audits for the designated business unit.
• Acts as primary contact with operations to answer financial questions and resolve issues.
• Evaluates processes to identify improvements and efficiencies.
• Participates in management meetings presenting financial results to leaders.
