Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a Financial Analyst III for a hybrid role with travel to Yulee, FL; West Palm Beach, FL; Newark, DE; or Dover, DE. You will craft consolidated presentations for executives, support strategic planning and budgeting, and produce monthly variances and KPI analyses.

A four-year finance degree and 5+ years in financial analysis are required, with ERP and BI tool experience. We value strong project management, GAAP knowledge, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Accounting/Finance or a related business field.
• Minimum of 5 years of business planning, financial analysis, or related finance experience.
• Experience with ERP systems and analytical tools (SAP, Power BI, Qlik, Tableau).
• Regular driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
• Basic accounting knowledge (GAAP, accruals).
• Experience in utility industry or FP&A role preferred.
• Strong project management and clear communication with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Prepares consolidated summary presentations for senior management.
• Supports strategic planning, budgets, performance indicators, and targets.
• Produces monthly reporting with variance analysis against prior year, budget, and forecast.
• Performs complex financial forecasting, modeling and trend analysis.
• Reports KPIs, highlights trends and analyzes variances.
• Prepares feasibility studies for capital investments.
• Analyzes cost allocations and reports on changes versus budget.
• Completes special studies (cost of service, ROE, capital structure, depreciation).
• Researches historical data to support executive decisions.
• Assists in reviewing accounting transactions for accuracy.
• Supports merger and acquisition proformas and analysis.
• Collaborates with operations and finance for data gathering for filings.
• Identifies improvements to financial processes and reporting.
