Job summary

Community Support Services, based in Akron, OH, seeks an Accountant III to join the Finance Team. The role focuses on preparing financial statements, journal entries, and data analyses to support the agency’s financial objectives and maintain the integrity of the CSS accounting system.

The candidate will contribute to monthly closings, reconcile ledgers, and prepare required financial reports. Strong ERP and MS Office skills are essential in a mission-driven organization serving Summit County.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business is required. Master’s Degree preferred.
• Great Plains Software, Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency required.
• Ability to apply accounting principles to practical situations.
• Ability to evaluate financial data and make appropriate recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger integrity and assist in monthly closings.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciling subsidiary schedules.
• Assist in producing monthly/annual financial reports and statistics.
• Coordinate and prepare grant reports and monthly draws from funders.
• Develop ad hoc reports for Controller and CFO as needed.
