Job summary

The State of Alaska is seeking an Accountant 2 to join a team of accounting professionals in Juneau. You will ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices, manage daily retirement contribution uploads, and interface with the state's accounting system.

You will assist with reconciling expenditures and revenues and help prepare quarterly and annual financial statements. This role offers exposure to fund accounting concepts related to pension plans and healthcare trust funds, with

• Accounting Operations: Knowledge of general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliation basics.
• Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving: ability to analyze data and address issues.
• Computer Skills: proficient with accounting software and spreadsheets.
• Oral and Written Communication: clear and effective communication with team and stakeholders.
