Job summary

EPB is seeking an Accountant II to perform professional level financial accounting and reporting in accordance with GAAP. The role includes preparing reports, conducting revenue and expense analysis, and reconciling data to the general ledger, with duties expanding to budgeting and process improvements.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree with accounting coursework, 3–5 years of experience, and strong MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 24 semester hours of accounting coursework.
  • 3–5 years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; strong analytical skills and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing the annual budget and research variances to budget.
  • Develop into an expert in the assigned accounting/operational area within three years.
  • Review and analyze financial transactions for correct posting to the general ledger.
  • Enter adjusting entries to correct erroneous postings.
  • Analyze workflow to ensure accuracy and timeliness of accounting records.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
  • Advise other departments on accounting activities.
  • Develop new procedures to improve accounting processes.
  • Assist staff in evaluating data reasonableness and identifying problems.
