Job summary

Hillsborough Community College in Florida seeks a seasoned accounting professional to prepare advanced income and expenditure statements, analyze data and records, and reconcile accounts. This role uses college-wide applications to input, retrieve, display, edit, reconcile and report information, with initiative to achieve objectives.

The successful candidate will maintain files, process invoices, review ledgers, and prepare periodic financial reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree and three years of prior-related work experience.
• Experience with accounting procedures and ledgers.
• Ability to review and analyze accounting data and reports.

Compensation Range:$55,053.78 - $87,400.78Position Summary:Hiring compensation range: $ 55,053.78 - $ 60,559.15 depending on qualifications.Job Summary:Prepares advanced, complex income and expenditure statements and reports; analyzes data, reports and records; reconciles accounts and/or statements as required; verifies the accuracy of vouchers, accounting classifications and records; conducts special studies to review accounting methods and procedures. Uses both personal computer and college-wide applications to input, retrieve, display, edit, reconcile and report information as necessary. May exercise considerable initiative in order to obtain job objectives. May direct and check work of clerks and accountants. Maintains knowledge of advanced accounting procedures.Job Duties:• Maintains files and records (both computer and documents) as required.• Processes invoices, vouchers, records, etc. as assigned.• Reviews, calculates and analyzes accounting ledgers, A/R, bookstore and other accounts as necessary.• Maintains validity and integrity of accounts and/or funds.• Prepares periodic and special reports of account status or analysis as required (waivers, annual financial report, etc.) to include reconciliation of state and federal funds.• Reviews lower level accounting work assignments for accuracy and completeness.• Creates, inputs, maintains and prepares computer records and reports as requested. May include higher level functions, depending on computer proficiency.• Interacts with students, general public, and college staff to share information.
