Job summary

The Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector’s Office is seeking an Accountant I to join our team in Oklahoma City. This role supports accounting, payroll, auditing, travel, fleet operations, and administrative processes to promote accountability and transparency in state government.

You will handle timesheets for about 60 employees, process invoices, and reconcile data with Workday while maintaining leave records and ensuring compliance with state policies.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, office management, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide accounting, financial, and operational support across the agency.
• Manage timesheet entry for ~60 employees in the billing system.
• Prepare invoices and coordinate with audit managers for final approval.
• Reconcile timesheet data with the Workday system.
• Maintain employee leave balances and reconcile with Workday.
• Review travel claims for compliance with state laws, policies, and procedures.
• Manage the fleet program, including vehicle reporting and fleet invoices.
• Serve as Pension Commission Administrator, including quarterly meetings and minutes.
• Prepare audit reports for publication on the agency website.
• Support agency projects, programs, reports, and special assignments.
