Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services is seeking an Accountant I/II to join a well-established accounting and finance team in Perris, CA. This role focuses on the general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting, with opportunities for long-term growth.

Depending on experience, the position may be filled at Accountant I or II. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in accounting/related field and at least 3 years of professional accounting experience, with strong Excel skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and GAAP.
• Hands-on experience with journal entries, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations.
• Strong Excel and overall computer skills.
• Ability to analyze financial information and identify discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger activity.
• Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash, and fixed assets.
• Perform bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations.
• Research discrepancies, identify errors, and make corrections.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare financial statements, schedules, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Analyze revenue and expenditure accounts and investigate variances.
• Maintain accounting records and ensure transactions are properly recorded.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting and GL reconciliation.
• Track project-related costs and assist with WIP and project accounting.
• Monitor expenditures and compare activity against budgets.
• Assist with year-end financial reporting and audit schedules.
• Support special accounting projects and reporting as needed.
• Partner with other departments to resolve accounting questions.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
