Job summary

Henrico County is seeking an Accountant I to lead financial management for a federal program across Henrico and seven neighboring jurisdictions. You will manage a $5+ million budget, supervise procedures, and ensure GAAP compliance while coordinating grant funds and audits.

You will start with training before taking full ownership of fiscal operations, reporting, and compliance responsibilities within the CRWP Administration team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent with relevant coursework.
• Experience applying GAAP to federal and grant funds.
• Ability to analyze fiscal data and prepare clear reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop and track the department's $5+ million budget across funding sources.
• Review and modify accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and federal grant requirements (2 CFR Part 200, WIOA).
• Oversee monthly contractor invoices and funding allocations.
• Prepare complex monthly fiscal reports and cross-walk Oracle data.
• Develop cash payment schedules and monitor budget-to-spending trends.
