Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers seeks a Grants Accountant for the Central Administration to oversee financial practices statewide and support Cardinal accounting processes in accordance with GAAP and state policies.

The role assists with grant disbursements, maintains transaction records, and tracks grant reimbursements for assigned agencies, reporting to the Director of Financial Services and Assistant Accounting Manager.

Qualifications

• GAAP knowledge and AP/AR practices.
• Word and Excel used for recording and maintaining transactions.
• Ability to apply accounting methods to grant transactions.
• Ability to train support staff and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide statewide oversight and guidance on financial/accounting practices and the Cardinal system in line with policies.
• Assist with disbursement transactions and ensure compliance with DOA, DOC, and APA policies.
• Maintain records and assist in tracking, reporting, and reimbursement of grant funds.
• Support the Director of Financial Services and Assistant Accounting Manager with project work.
