Ellwood Quality Steels seeks an Accountant to oversee all accounting functions under the Controller. The role supports the ledger, costings, and monthly reporting in a manufacturing setting.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in accounting or related experience, at least 2 years in manufacturing accounting, strong Excel skills, and a detail‑oriented, confidential mindset. Driving eligibility is required. Competitive benefits apply.

Mansioni

• Oversee general ledger activities, journal entries and month-end close.
• Collaborate with Controller to understand ledger and costing programs.
• Prepare monthly reports and dashboards (sales, use tax, capital projects).
• Manage monthly inventory control and annual reconciliations.
• Handle inter-company transactions and reconciliations.

What You’ll Do

• Financial Accounting (general ledger, journal entry preparation, month-end closing, A/R, etc.)
• Work closely with the Controller to acquire a full understanding of the Company’s ledger and costing program
• Prepare monthly reports / charts (sales & use tax, capital projects, production, etc.)
• Monthly inventory control and annual inventory reconciliations
• Inter-company transaction / reconciliations
• Maintain required vendor documentation (W-9, W-8BEN)
• Assist Controller with yearly reporting (R&D tax credit, 1099s, etc.)
• Complete special projects as assigned
• Provide back up support for other accounting functions
• Maintain controls to ensure integrity of the computer system
• Ensure all financial records accurately reflect the financial position of the company
• Abides by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules.
• Must have ability and desire to work with others.
• Meets attendance requirements.
• Performs other duties as deemed necessary to support business needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required or a commensurate level of related experience and education.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience Accounting in a manufacturing environment is preferred;

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Must be proactive and have the ability to multi-task and work independently.

DRIVING

Required to have an active and valid driver’s license, or the ability to travel and commute as required, and comply with the Motor Vehicle Safety Program.
