Aston Carter seeks an Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting, ensuring accurate records and timely close processes. The role includes limited payroll support and collaboration with leadership and operations teams.

Responsibilities span journal entries, reconciliations, GL integrity, reporting, budgeting, audits, and cost analysis. On-site role based in Fargo, ND with competitive medical and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
• Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, statements, and operational metrics.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives.
• Assist with internal and external audits by gathering documentation and preparing schedules.
• Monitor compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Track and analyze labor, operational, and project-related costs.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within accounting functions.
• Provide backup support for payroll processing and payroll-related reconciliations as needed.
• Assist with special projects and reporting requests from leadership.
