Forcht Group in Corbin, KY is seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeper to maintain financial records, process monthly statements, and support daily accounting tasks.

The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, experience with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains preferred), and the ability to work accurately under deadlines.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Classifies, records and summarizes financial data to compile and keep financial records.
  • Ensures financial records are accurate.
  • Prepares monthly financial statements.
  • Records debits, credits and totals in spreadsheets and databases.
  • Receives, records and banks cash, checks and vouchers.
  • Codes documents according to company procedures.
  • Reconciles records to bank accounts.
  • Answers and directs phone calls.
  • Inputs and updates information in databases and spreadsheets.
  • Maintains confidentiality and complies with company policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job description

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

  • Classifies, records and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
  • Ensuring financial records are accurate.
  • Preparing monthly financial statements.
  • Debits, credits and total accounts in computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.
  • Receives, records and banks cash, checks and vouchers.
  • Codes documents according to company procedures.
  • Reconciles records to bank accounts
  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Inputs and updates information in databases and spreadsheets
  • Works with sensitive information with discretion to maintain confidentiality and security and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or the equivalency
  • 1 years’ experience in bookkeeping preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains preferred

Other Requirements

  • May be required to attend activities outside the office to stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory and regulatory changes.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules that may include early/late or weekend working hours.
