Job Overview

Under general supervision, at the full-performance level, this position primarily manages the financial administration of federal and state grants for the Division of Administrative Services, Justice and Community Services. Responsibilities include reviewing, validating, and authorizing fund distributions to sub-grantees, collaborating with criminal justice specialists to resolve issues, acting as backup for grant fund transactions, and training new staff. Essential skills include governmental accounting, communication, confidentiality, and proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google applications and WV Oasis.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 24 semester hours in accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Two years of professional accounting, statutory accounting, or auditing experience.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in accounting or certification as a Public Accountant in West Virginia can substitute for experience.
