Under limited supervision, the Criminal Justice Specialist 3 will be responsible for managing and supervising at least two (2) Criminal Justice Specialists. Typical duties include, but are not limited to, managing workflow, creating schedules, delegating tasks, assessing employee performance, and ensuring departmental goals and standards are met. The role also involves training and onboarding new hires to ensure understanding of duties and responsibilities.
The incumbent and their staff will handle: 1) reviewing and approving/denying grant adjustment requests from Justice and Community Services’ sub-recipients; 2) conducting monthly technical assistance calls; 3) submitting progress reports for federal grant programs; and 4) managing and overseeing the Justice and Community Services electronic grant filing system, including weekly audits of grant files.
The Specialist will also be solely responsible for securing multi-million dollar grant funding, administering existing grants, and overseeing state and federal grant programs. Responsibilities include processing financial reimbursement requests, maintaining tracking systems, supporting meetings and events for statewide committees, reviewing applications for accuracy, and preparing funding recommendation packages for the Office of the Governor.

Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
AND
Experience: Four (4) years of relevant paid professional experience in grants development/administration, planning, criminal justice, investigations, data analysis, statistics, research, or mathematics.
OR
Substitution: Graduate coursework may substitute for experience at a rate of fifteen (15) semester hours for one (1) year of experience.
