LHH Recruitment Solutions partners with an established nonprofit in Suffolk County to hire a Staff Accountant for the finance team. This onsite role (Mon-Fri, 9am–5pm) supports general accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance, with potential to convert to $80K when permanent.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's in accounting/finance and about 3+ years of accounting experience, strong GL/reconciliation skills, and advanced Excel (PivotTables/lookups).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Approximately 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong general ledger and reconciliation experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and lookup functions.
• Experience within nonprofit, healthcare, human services, or another regulated environment is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain bank and general ledger reconciliations
• Assist with journal entries, accruals, account analysis, and month-end accounting
• Support financial reporting and maintain supporting schedules
• Assist with grant, contract, and program-related financial reporting
• Review expenditures, invoices, and supporting documentation for accuracy
• Work with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable on outstanding items and account discrepancies
• Assist with budget updates and financial reporting requirements
• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation
• Assist finance leadership with audits, special projects, and other accounting initiatives

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an established non-profit organization in Suffolk County seeking a Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This position will work closely with finance leadership and support a variety of general accounting, reconciliation, reporting, and financial compliance functions. This is onsite Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm and can convert to $80K when perm.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain bank and general ledger reconciliations
• Assist with journal entries, accruals, account analysis, and month-end accounting
• Support financial reporting and maintain supporting schedules
• Assist with grant, contract, and program-related financial reporting

Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
