Job summary

Addison Group is assisting a client in San Antonio, TX to hire an Accountant who will be the right-hand to the Controller and help manage daily general ledger activities. The role offers growth opportunities within a growing commercial electrical services firm located in Texas.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and at least 3 years of accounting experience, with construction industry exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Construction industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and monthly general ledger accounting activities.
• Prepare and maintain accurate account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, balance sheet, and other assigned accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
• Review financial transactions for accuracy and proper account coding.
• Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements.
• Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable activity.
• Assist with construction job costing and review job cost transactions for accuracy.
• Review project costs, labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment, and other direct and indirect costs.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and unusual transactions.
• Assist the Controller with special projects and process improvements.
