Job summary

The North American Coal Corporation is seeking an Accountant to support budgeting, reporting and cost analysis at the Freedom Mine in Beulah, ND. You will help prepare annual and long-range budgets and assist in cost reports.

You will also prepare journal entries, assist with financial statements and audits, and maintain ledger accuracy while following MSHA and company safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field; 4 years experience may substitute for degree
• CMA or CPA certification preferred
• Proficient in MS Office; advanced Excel functions (Power Query/Power Pivot) a plus
• Ability to handle confidential information; accurate and detail oriented

Responsibilities

• Support annual operating and long-range budget projections
• Assist with monthly Mine Cost Reports and cost analyses
• Provide backup for AP, data entry and ledger maintenance
• Prepare journal entries and analyze general ledger activity
• Assist with financial statements, cost reports, and internal/external audits
