Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central and Southern New Jersey, Inc. (PPNCSNJ) provides comprehensive reproductive and sexual health care, abortion services, education and information to women, men and teens at 17 health centers throughout 18 counties in New Jersey.
$85,000 - $95,000 a year
Pay: $85k-$90k
Hours: 35 hr work week, Exempt
Schedule: Full Time, 5-day work week, Onsite
Schedule Requirement: Monday-Friday
Location: Morristown, New Jersey

Job Summary
The accountant specializing in Grant and Accounting will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations related to grants, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance. This role will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for both internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on maintaining the integrity of financial data. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in grant management, financial analysis, and reporting within a non-profit/ governmental organization/ healthcare organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years focused on grant management and financial reporting.
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficiency in with financial software and advanced Excel skills.
Experience with non-profit, Healthcare would be a plus.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Financial Edge would be a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Management:
Oversee the financial aspects of grants, including budget and forecast preparation, monitoring, and reporting.
Ensure compliance with grant requirements and regulations.
Coordinate with program managers to ensure proper allocation and utilization of grant funds.
Prepare and submit financial reports to grantors, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines to include completion of the SEFA, assist with Financial and Grantor audits.
Compliance And Risk Management
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to grants and financial reporting.
Monitor and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Participate in risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks.
General Ledger Maintenance
Assist in maintaining the general ledger by preparing and posting journal entries.
Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
Track, calculate and maintain Fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
