Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC partners with a mission-driven nonprofit in the Baltimore County area to hire a Junior or Staff level Accountant in Windsor Mill, MD. The role offers exposure to leadership and opportunities to grow technical accounting skills within a collaborative department.

Key responsibilities include accounts payable/receivable, payroll journal entries in Sage Intacct, month-end close, audit preparation, and liaison with the outsourced payroll provider. On-site work only.

Qualifications

• Experience using Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.
• Proficient Excel skills for spreadsheets and data analysis.
• 2+ years of accounting experience; payroll journal entries experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide broad support across accounting operations including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare and record payroll journal entries with accurate GL coding, cost center allocation, and grant designation in Sage Intacct.
• Assist with month-end close procedures and account reconciliations.
• Support audit preparation by organizing documentation and coordinating with auditors.
• Act as liaison for the outsourced payroll provider and resolve issues promptly.

Job Duties of the Accountant:

• Provide broad support across accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Prepare and record payroll journal entries with accurate GL coding, cost center allocation, and grant designation within Sage Intacct software
• Assist with account reconciliations and month‑end close procedures to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reportingSupport audit preparation by organizing documentation, preparing schedules, and coordinating responses to auditor inquiries
• Act as the primary liaison for the outsourced payroll provider, reviewing weekly adjustment reports and resolving issues promptly
• Contribute to project‑related tasks and department initiatives, providing additional support as business needs evolve

Qualifications for the Accountant:

• Experience using Sage Intacct
• 2+ years’ accounting experience
  • Must be able to do payroll journal entries
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related a plus
• Proficient Excel skills
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Salary: $55,000-64,000 depending on experience

Schedule: M-F 9:00am-5pm, 40 hours per week. This role is fully on site.
