Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. in California seeks an Accountant to perform clerical and data entry tasks supporting contractual requirements, manage accounts payable/receivable timely, and provide ad hoc reporting for project teams.

You will assist with internal and external financial reporting and assemble client billings as per contract terms. Join our employee-owned team and contribute to accurate cash flows, deposits, and timely payments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required; a related bachelor’s degree is an asset.
  • 6 months to 1 year accounting or administrative experience preferred.
  • Exposure to project forecasting and budgeting is desirable.
  • Understanding of accounting principles including ledgers and cash flows is expected.
  • Exposure to subcontract purchase order terms and related insurance requirements.
  • Basic understanding of lien rights and confidential information handling.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency and experience with accounting software are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Process all accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide project teams with ad hoc reports and analysis as needed.
  • Assemble information for internal and external financial reporting requirements.
  • Assemble client billings packages per contract terms and ensure timely payment.
  • Prepare bank deposits and cash receipt entries.

Here’s how a Accountant for PCL Construction Services, Inc. within California Buildings contributes to our team:

  • Performs clerical and data entry support to meet contractual requirements for operational and basic accounting.
  • Processes all accounts payable and accounts received in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provides project teams with ad hoc reports and analysis as the need arises.
  • Assists with the assembly of information for internal and external financial reporting requirements.
  • Assembles client billings packages in accordance with contract terms and conditions and ensures timely payment.
  • Prepares bank deposits and cash receipt entries.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field is considered an asset.
  • Some student experience or 6 months to 1 year of accounting or administrative experience is preferred.
  • Exposure to project forecasting and budgeting.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, including maintenance of ledgers and cash flows.
  • Exposure to project costing principles, recoveries, insurance, and contract/subcontract requirements as related to accounting
  • Exposure to subcontract purchase order terms, including insurance and subcontractor default insurance requirements.
  • Basic understanding of lien rights.
  • Ability to act with the required discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software is an asset.

The estimated salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
