Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2–3 years of accounts payable experience or general accounting.
• Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles, accounts payable functions and procedures.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Sage or SAP is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain proper information and create vendors in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Verify, classify, review and process vendor invoices.
• Reconcile and review AP aging monthly and follow up on open invoices or credits.
• Perform bank account reconciliations and generate reconciliation reports.
• Assist with month-end closing and coordination with team members.
• Assist with fixed asset and lease accounting activities.
• Review operating expenses for accuracy and proper classification.
• Assist with preparation and filing of state and local tax returns and reports.

SUMMARY

Responsible for daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, vendor management, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Support month-end closing activities, fixed asset and lease accounting, expense reviews, and state and local tax filings.

JOB DUTIESinclude but are not limited to the following:

• Obtain proper information and create vendors in compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Verify, classify, review and process vendor invoices
• Find discrepancies between the vendor statements and the ledger
• Reconcile and review AP aging monthly, follow up with any open AP invoices or credits
• Perform bank account reconciliations and generate a reconciliation report
• Work closely with team members to coordinate with the month-end closing
• Coordinate and communicate internally and externally on various projects
• Assist preparation of yearly 1099 forms
• Assist preparation of audits and reports
• Perform other accounting relates tasks
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, including asset capitalization, depreciation, and periodic reviews.
• Assist with lease accounting, including reviewing lease schedules, lease-related transactions, and reconciliations.
• Review operating expenses to ensure accuracy, proper classification, and compliance with company accounting policies.
• Assist with the preparation and filing of various state and local tax returns and reports

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications for an accountant include having an extensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures; having strong accounts payable skills; being able to handle multiple projects in a given time, including during deadline periods; being a self-starter as well as a team player.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 2 - 3 years of accounts payable experience or general accounting
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting principles, accounts payable functions and procedures
• Sage or SAP experience highly preferred
• Maintain high attention to detail and strict deadlines
• Must be able to work efficiently in a team independently
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written – Bilingual English and Korean preferred
• General Microsoft office knowledge with proficiency in Excel including functions such as VLOOKUP and Pivot tables
• Experience with Certify or SAP Concur is plus
