Staffmark Group in Bastrop, LA is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage financial records and close periods with accuracy across the full accounting picture.

You will post, reconcile, and audit transactions, handle AP/AR, and assist with tax filing and audits alongside senior staff.

The role requires an associate degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor’s preferred), 1–2 years of experience, and proficiency with QuickBooks or Xero and MS Excel.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
• 1–2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a CPA firm.
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar); strong MS Excel skills.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and maintain financial records, ledgers, and journals.
• Post transactions to appropriate accounts in accounting software.
• Reconcile bank statements and client accounts.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist with tax preparation and filing during tax season.
• Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents.
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial information.
• Support senior accountants and CPAs with audits and financial reporting.

Location: Bastrop, LA

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8 AM-5 PM

This Accountant role in Bastrop is for someone who understands the full picture, not just A/R and A/P. You track the details, close things out, and keep the numbers accurate.

What's Required

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's preferred).
• 1-2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a CPA firm.
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel and basic financial principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
