Job summary

PSC Motorsports in Texas seeks an Accountant to oversee daily financial operations, keep books accurate, and ensure timely payments and clear reporting. You’ll work closely with leadership to support growth and maintain compliance across AP, AR, general ledger, and month-end activities.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in accounting, hands-on QuickBooks, and familiarity with Avalara AvaTax for multi-state sales tax. A degree in accounting is a plus, and you’ll join a tight-knit, hands-on team.

What You’ll Do

As our Accountant, you’ll be the steady hand behind PSC’s daytoday financial operations. You’ll keep our books accurate, organized, and compliant — ensuring invoices get paid, accounts balance, and reports tell a clear story. From managing AP and AR to supporting monthend close and sales tax compliance, you’ll work closely with leadership and internal teams to keep the financial side of the business running so the rest of the team can stay focused on building great products and continued company growth.

Your Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

• Process vendor invoices, payments, and expense reports accurately and on time.
• Issue customer invoices, apply payments, and monitor aging reports.
• Follow up on outstanding balances and help maintain clean AR.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies with vendors, customers, and internal teams.

General Ledger & Reconciliations

• Assist owner with reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts regularly.
• Post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Support ongoing account reviews to ensure clean, reliable financial data.

Month-End & Reporting Support

• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for leadership and external accountants.
• Help ensure financial reports and records are accurate, timely, and audit-ready.

Sales Tax & Compliance (AvaTax)

• Manage sales tax setup, reconciliation, and reporting using Avalara AvaTax.
• Review tax calculations for ecommerce (Shopify) and dealer transactions.
• Assist with multi-state filing requirements as the business expands.

Cross-Team Collaboration

• Partner with ecommerce, operations, purchasing, and leadership to support financial needs.
• Provide clear, helpful responses to accounting-related questions.
• Support process improvements and documentation as systems and sales volume grow.

General Accounting Support

• Maintain organized financial records and digital documentation.
• Support audits, proactive reviews, and special projects as needed.
• Perform additional duties to support the team and overall business goals.

What You’ll Bring

• 2–5 years of experience in accounting.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (Desktop or Online).
• Experience using Avalara AvaTax for multi-state sales tax compliance preferred.
• Strong operational understanding of AP, AR, reconciliations, and general ledger functions.
• Experience supporting month-end close and basic financial reporting.
• Comfortable working with accounting systems, ERP/ecommerce platforms, and spreadsheets.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
• Clear, professional communication and a team-first mindset.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is a plus (or equivalent experience).
